SUKHOI 30-MKI

A multi role air superiority fighter, SU-30 MKI, is a two seater and a twin jet aircraft developed by Russia's Sukhoi and being produced in India by HAL(Hindustan Aeronotics Limited) for the Indian Air Force.

MKI stands for "Modernizirovannyi, Kommercheskiy, Indiski" meaning "MODERN COMMERCIAL, INDIAN".

Costing around 360 crore rupees per unit, IAF currently operates over 200 MKI'S, and has ordered around 70  more. The aircraft has been made according to the Indian specifications and also include Indian systems and avionics as well as French and Israeli sub-systems.

This versatile fighter has 12 hard-points for bombs and missiles. The IAF is carrying out structural modifications on Sukhois to carry air launched version of BRAHMOS. Su-30 is world class and will be unbeatable in a dog-fight scenario, if operated by experinced pilots.

India currently has deployed Su-30's on 8 IAF bases spread across the country, namely Bareilly, Gwalior, Bhatinda, Tezpur, Jodhpur, Halwara, Pune and Chabua. Unluckily, the aircraft has also seen 5 accidents in last 6 years.

With the induction of large number of class leading Su-30's, the IAF has not only made a huge transition from its ageing Mig-21 dominated fleet, its war fighting doctrine has also changed , focusing on long range and strategic missions. Su-30's are going to be the nations foremost line of defense and response in case of any threat in the air.

APACHE AND CHINOOK COPTERS DEAL

Recently govt. cleared a multi-billion dollar deal for 22 APACHE attack helicopters and 15 CHINOOK heavy-lift helicopters, with American aviation giant BOEING.

Valued to be over $ 2.5 billion and pending since 2013, the deal was cleared by CCS (Cabinet Committee on Security), ahead of the PM'S visit to U.S.A. The contract also has a clause to place a follow on order for 11 more Apaches and 7 more Chinooks.

Apache helicopter is one of the most advanced multi role combat helicopter in current date, featuring all weather and night fighting features, advanced sensors, BVRM (Beyond Visual Range Missiles ) beside stealth characteristics.

Chinooks, the iconic twin rotor are one of the most modern heavy lift helicopters in the world. This massive machine is capable of carrying 9.6 tonnes of cargo, including heavy machinery, artillery guns and light armoured vehicles to high altitudes.

Experts believe that Apache will be a "game-changer" in the tactical battle scenario, whereas Chinook will initially be a great boon for the projects of BRO (BORDER ROADS ORGANISATION).

STORY OF BALOCHISTAN

BALOCHISTAN, the biggest tension of Pakistan.

If one reads history of Balochistan, one will find out that the occupation of Balochistan by the Pakistani government is illegal. It was a princely state and during the tenure of British, it was up to the then prince to decide if he wanted to become part of Pakistan at the time of partition. The prince then decided to stay as an independent nation and did not opt to be part of Pakistan.

However, against the wishes of the then prince, Pakistan attacked Balochistan and since then Balochistan is in the grips of Islamabad government.  Needless to say, Balchos have not and will not forget the ill treatment they have been experiencing in the hands of Pakistani military establishment.

According to the reports, Balochistan is blessed with all kinds of natural resources which Pakistan has been exploiting for their own benefits. The local Balochs are deprived of sharing any of these resources. Innocent women and children are being murdered on a daily basis and this mayhem has been going on since 1948.

People learn lessons from historical events, but Pakistan has not learn any lessons from its own history - history which gave birth to Bangladesh. Before Bangladesh was born, West Pakistan treated the Bengalis in the then East Pakistan miserably. Even though lots of revenues were coming from the East Pakistan, the Bengalis were not allowed to share any of the fruits of their hard work. Most of that revenue was spent on the welfare of Punjab(Pakistan) and the military establishment in West Pakistan

What happened to East Pakistan, now Bangladesh, is a history for any one to read. The scenario in Balochistan is the same and it is a question of time when, not if, Balochistan will part with Pakistan. Baloch's blood is boiling and the time is very near when it is going to explode to force the government in Islamabad to cave in.

Yes, Balcohs are not equipped to fight with the Pakistani military on equal footing, hence, there is an urgent need from the civilized world including the United Nations to come forward to lessen the grievance of the innocent Baloch women and children by rejecting Pakistan's illegal occupation of Balochistan.

DEFENSE MINISTER

Mr. Manohar Parrikar, Minister Of Defense, INDIA

He is one of the simplest INDIAN politician I have seen in recent years. Born in Mapuca, Goa, he completed his schooling in Goa itself and got graduated from prestigious IIT Bombay. Yes..!!! IIT Bombay. Not so common that our politicians come from IIT'S. Going on to become the Chief Minister of the smallest state of the nation first in 2000, he  became immensely popular among the locals. In Goa, people don’t get surprised on seeing the Chief Minister riding scooter in the morning or sipping tea in a tea shop.

Since he has assumed the office in Delhi, he has cleared several stuck defense projects worth thousands of crores and also handled the sensitive issue of OROP(one rank one pension) very well. He has also been regularly stating that the focus of his ministry will be on "Make In India", so that we don't have to be dependent on imports for defense supplies.

Seeing the work and focus of Modi Govt. on defense area, I can very confidently say that the national security is in safe hands.

GSLV D-6 LAUNCH

Another feather in the cap for ISRO, as it successfully launched the GSAT-6 satellite on 27th August, 2015  using GSLV rocket which used indigenous built cryogenic engine. This was the second successive launch using the indigenous cryo-stage, the prior being launch of GSAT-14 satellite on 5th January, 2014 .

Cryogenic stage is technically a very complex system as it uses liquid oxygen(-183 deg C) and liquid hydrogen(-253 deg C). Maintaining such extremely low temperatures during the entire launch period is not an easy task at all. Only six space agencies including ISRO have been able to master the art of cryogenic stage technology.
